Loyal Valley is a cool, micro-climate just 30 minutes west of Fredericksburg. The vineyard is a small one of 2.5 acres, is farmed by a man named John Brown, and is a great representation of Hickory Sands soils. It has little limestone and is all on decomposed granite over sandstone. When it comes to vines and soil, great wines are only grown in certain soils. There are several influences that effect which soil is best, such as elevation, climate, type of grape, and style of wine. Cabernet Sauvignon grows wonderfully in Loyal Valley because of the simultaneous balance of all of the above. We encourage you to experience this single vineyard Texas Hill Country Cabernet with friends and family, as we do. This wine will show best in 4-6 years.
Medium – full body. Dark, spicy cinnamon, fresh green leaf shoots, and blackberry bramble lead the nose. Vibrant on the palate exhibiting tart raspberry, herbed tomato ragu, citrus zest and apple skins. Finish draws to muddled strawberry and crab apple preserves.
