The 2012 growing season was pretty perfect when you look back at the vintage. Bud break started with adequate spring rain fall and cool temperatures that are crucial for good pollination. The even ripening of the clusters produced a crop with strong sugars and balanced acidity. The summer months were hot and dry, but a great rain four weeks before harvest brought us an exceptional 2012 vintage.
The 2012 Enchanté opens up with soft notes of vanilla coming from the integration of new oak used to age this Hill Country Wine. Nutmeg, clove, cinnamon and a hint of anise on the nose carry through to the blueberry and mulberry fruit that is typical from Granite Hill. The angularity of the tannin and acidity structure will take this wine down the road for some years to come. Drink this wine now and see what you can explore with your senses, and lay it down for some excitement years from now.
