Texas Terroir Mourvedre Tasting 3 PM
Black Friday Special Event
The warm climates and diverse soils found in Texas terroir enable the growth of beautiful Rhône valley varietals -- including one that is becoming a staple in Texas winemaking. Mourvèdre, which is grown in France, and its native Spain (where the grapes are called Monastrell), thrives in our hot weather. Texas Mourvèdre showcases nice red fruit often with spicy notes that show off the nuances of the soils where they are grown.
Join our head winemaker, Chris, and come explore the Texas terroir, get familiar with these Texas-friendly grapes, and taste the difference that the diverse soils have on the final wine.
Look at soil samples from each AVA, and taste the difference that terroir makes by comparing the single varietal from the same vintage year, all grown in diverse regions across the state of Texas.
