William Chris currently makes more Mourvèdre than anyone else in the state of Texas and we believe Mourvèdre is a grape that truly shows what Texas vines can do. Because wineries and growers are discovering how amazing this grape does in Texas, there is currently a two-year wait for Mourvèdre vines.
Andy Timmons, grower/farmer/producer and longtime friend, was the first grower to produce Mourvèdre for William Chris and continues to produce it for us today. Using fruit from all over the state, Chris Brundrett describes the wine as “a fun blend that expresses Mourvèdre as a whole and showcases all of Texas and not just 1 single vineyard or AVA”.
A burgundy tint, shows lightly hazy indicating added texture bursts into a palate of spicy cinnamon & zesty red fruits showing an inviting silky mouthfeel and vibrant focus. Grilled orange slices, red currant, baked cranberry with hints of dried flowers and mulled wine spices. - winemaker, Josh Fritsche
