SKU: 2018 Mary Ruth

Mary Ruth, named after William and Carol’s mother, is our flagship white wine. Mary Ruth and Donald Blackmon were cotton farmers on the Texas High Plains. In 1983 they diversified their farming operations and planted their first vineyard in County Line, Texas north of Lubbock. The family farmed the vineyard for eleven years until a major freeze in the 1990s took everything to the ground. They abandoned the vineyard and William decided it was time to move to the Texas Hill Country. Mary Ruth moved to Fredericksburg soon after to be close to her family.

2018 Mary Ruth from William Chris Vineyards - Wine Origin Map

This wine is clearly an important part of the William Chris family and we have come along way since the first vintage in 2011. The taste profile for this vintage remains clean, refreshing, and holds a medium to long finish as in previous years.

Tthe Moscato Giallo in Mary Ruth is special because it is some of the only of its kind in the U.S. You may not be familiar with it because the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) doesn’t recognize it and therefore we must use the name “Muscat Blanc” on the label.
