This single vineyard wine is a testament to why William Chris Vineyards believes Mourvèdre is the ideal grape varietal for Texas’s extreme terroir. Long-time friend Andy Timmons, farmer and owner of Lost Draw Vineyards, was the first to produce Mourvèdre for us. In 2007 when Andy initially decided to grow grapes in addition to cotton, he asked newly graduated Chris Brundrett what type of grape he should grow. Chris’s answer: Mourvèdre. Even though Andy had no clue what it was or how to even pronounce it, he began his journey in the grape growing industry and planted it. Three years later, we received our first Mourvèdre grapes and have been working with Andy’s Mourvèdre ever since. Lost Draw Vineyards continues to produce some of our best crops to this day, including Malbec and Cinsaut. As the fourth vintage of this single vineyard Mourvèdre, we cannot dream of being without this staple in our portfolio.
Rich & full nose of candied nuts, raspberries, cloves & nutmeg. Smoothly glides over pallet evoking & leaving juicy & fleshy dark berries alongside their green leafy shoots, black tea, bay leaf and dark chocolate covered acai berries. Tannins are well integrated. Fruit & green tones transition to bold notes on the long-lasting finish. Enjoy through 2024.
