Granite Hill Vineyards

Originally planted by Bill Blackmon in 1996, the 30-acre Granite Hill Vineyard in the Bell Mountain AVA contains mostly of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. A bit of Trebbiano and Malbec round out the vineyard’s 15 producing acres.

Rich in decomposed granite over a clay layer with a sandstone sub base, the vineyard sits in the rain shadow of Enchanted Rock. Weather patterns that typically flow west to east are disturbed by the iconic geological landmark pushing pressure upward before it slowly settles on the backside of the formation.

Granite Hill grapes are responsible for our flagship Enchanté as well as a few different Merlot single varietals, such as the Merlot GHV and the Merlot 500 Block.
