The Vineyard is situated on a very unique soil type for the Texas Hill Country. The vines are not planted in
the calcareous soil that dominates the region, but on decomposed granite. The Parr Vineyard is in the Upper
Hickory soil type. These soils have a pH lower than you typically see in most vineyards in Texas. Quartz
gravel and sand with very little clay may up its composition. Parr Vineyards expresses bold fruit and a mineral
note that has a roundness that brings this wine together. This is what the Upper Hickory soils are about.
Deep purple tint immediately showing a bold, robust structure. The palate shows a powerful tannic
framework of dark cocoa powder and leather with a center rushing with fresh, juicy blackberry and tart
plum- rugged yet refined. For all the muscular heartiness, a long life in the cellar will benefit for 10-20 yrs.
Enjoy through 2033.
